On the
Brain Science
Podcast we explore how recent
scientific discoveries are unraveling age-old mysteries,
such as intelligence, emotions, personality, and memory.
We also look at why the brain is much more complex than
any computer yet devised. Since the podcast launched in
2006, I have had the opportunity to interview quite a
few leading
scientists and writers and the show has
been ranked #1 on iTunes™.
If you are curious about how the brain makes you who you
are this is the podcast for you.

I started
Books and Ideas in 2006 so
I would have a place to share my thoughts about
everything from science to philosophy. I have done every
thing from
Harry Potter to an interview with
Nobel Prize winning physicist,
Frank Wilczek. The show has evolved to
have a focus on promoting science over pseudoscience,
but it an outlet for my diverse interests.

In 2008 I launched a group blog
called
SCIENCEPODCASTERS.ORG to
encourage science podcasters to work together to
increase awareness of our efforts. It is especially hard
for independent podcasts to get noticed on iTunes™, but
our site is open to podcasts of all sizes. The only
requirement is that you create solid science content on
a regular basis and post a brief announcement on our
site for each episode. Our goal is to drive traffic back
to everyone’s sites while hopefully generating more
search engine visibility than any of can generate alone.
